Student ID badges ring in school year in Humble ISD

„Visible IDs provide another barrier against adults or teens coming onto a campus if they do not have a legitimate reason for being at school,“ Mount said. „The IDs also enhance security at extracurricular activities, such as dances, where students may be required to show a school ID for admittance.“
There is no cost to students to have the badges made, fake id but students will be charged a replacement fee if the IDs are lost.
„Some campuses already required IDs, but the program is being expanded to all secondary schools this year,“ Mount said.
She said Humble ISD has multiple other measures in place to keep schools safe.
For example, Mount said all visitors must check in at the school office, where their driver license is scanned through a visitor management database that records their visit and screens out sexual offenders.
„School activities play an important role in keeping students involved in positive, safe, supervised activities,“ Mount said.
School officials also teach students safe behaviors such as doing activities in groups, fake identity websites alerting school personnel if a stranger is on school grounds, reporting situations that threaten other students‘ safety and identifying appropriate ways to solve conflicts.
Humble ISD also operates a Tips and Safety Hotline, at 281 641 8477, where crimes and safety concerns can be reported anonymously.
„Humble ISD emphasizes with all students and staff immediately reporting any suspicious activity,“ Mount said. „We tell students, ‚If you see something, say something.‘ “
The district has its own police department.
Mount said Humble ISD Police issue citations and make arrests.
„Officers are stationed at secondary campuses and provide support to nearby elementary schools as needed,“ she said. „One advantage of operating a district police department is that officers can be at any campus, scannable fake id any time.“
District police officers patrol district facilities 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and respond wherever there is a concern.
The department members also participate annually in „active shooter“ training and other emergency preparedness programs.
„Humble ISD conducts annual intruder drills to assess school safety,“ Mount added.
Another important component of security in the district is the dedicated emergency management and safety manager on staff.
Cheryl Vital assumed the position this year, and comes with extensive experience in the field.
She is a certified instructor for protocols, an International Prevention Specialist and a Certified Texas Emergency Manager.
„I have always worked with young people and families,“ she said.
Vital worked on a suicide prevention hotline as a teen and then became a social worker after college. She worked for various agencies before joining the .
Vital then took a job at Galena Park ISD. She worked as a team leader for crisis intervention, then a manager of student social services. In 2005, fake id she became director of security and emergency manager in that district and stayed in the post until moving to Humble ISD this year.
